A legend of the Russian underground, Yevgeniyd Kondratiev (“Debil”) is a “necrorealist”. In his short film, people quiver (via sped-up filming) through semi-derelict houses; they squat in steppe landscapes, encircled by graphics that are etched into the film; they torment themselves on dead tree trunks and in confined spaces. Over and over one is confronted with odd gazes and silent screams. The films of J. K. are an expression of survival in a world filled with horror and death. IzP has been in close contact with him since 2002, and from that time forward a variety of performance concepts have been transformed for the stage.
